The three car collision on Humberston Road brought traffic to a standstill as emergency services worked the scene

A woman has been cut from the wreckage of a serious three car collision in Cleethorpes.

The collision on Humberston Road is believed to have happened sometime shortly before 12 noon on Sunday (September 11). Eye witnesses report three vehicles were involved in the incident.

A badly damaged blue Nissan and BMW remained at the scene with investigators into the afternoon. Four crews from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service battled to free a female casualty from the blue Nissan which showed significant damage following the collision.

The woman was taken to an ambulance on a stretcher at the scene. One worker at a nearby hand car wash praised the work of emergency services in response to the collision.

He said: “The emergency services did an amazing job. She was trapped in there for a long time.

"I went over to offer water or any help. There were three cars involved and everyone else is fine. It was only her who got injured.“

The crash between Pennells Garden Centre at the Tesco roundabout on Humberston Road caused significant tailback in the immediate area around the junction. Some reported being unable to leave to supermarket car park for significant amount of time.

Fire crews deployed to the scene worked to remove the woman from the blue Nissan and she was then transported to an ambulance on a stretcher. The ambulance left the scene at around 2.30pm.
